Xavier Dotson aka "Xavier"
BIO
Xavier Dotson
aka "Xavier"
was born and raised in Memphis, TN. At an early age, she grew up loving the
music that her father played on the radio program called “back tracks.”
Xavier has always been involved with form of music. She learned to play the
piano at the age of eight. Even then, she loved the spotlight. She became active
with the band in junior and senior high school. She wanted to gain more
knowledge about the recording industry; she enrolled in a course at the
University of Memphis. She also attended the late O’landa Draper’s Music Lovers
Workshop.
During her late teens, she had a deep passion of wanting to pursue a
professional singing career, but considered herself to be somewhat shy. She soon
gained confidence after she sang her first solo with the young adult choir at
her church, Monumental Baptist Church. She felt God helped her to overcome a
mountain that seemed to hard to climb.
Xavier went on to form various groups. She realized that you have to be
dedicated to succeed in this business, and the dedication must be embedded in
your heart and soul. Thus, she embarked on a solo career.
She has performed with Queen Ann Hines in Italy. She has also performed with J.
Blackfoot and the Soul Children, and many other legendary and local
entertainers. She was featured in the Tri-State Defender newspaper, and will be
seen on CNN broadcast in the near future singing as the lead vocalist with her
church choir.
Xavier is also a writer. Her style of writing brings back the messages of the
good old days. Her songs speak of love and hope; they also offer you that sense
of inspiration. Those who have enjoyed her music describe her voice as soulful,
sultry, and smooth. Like a female Barry White or Gerald Levert. She is
definitely an artist that’s destined to the top of the charts.
